Disabled facilities

We welcome disabled visitors and our staff members are more than willing to assist in any way possible.

The Museum has a ramped entrance and all parts of the ground floor, including the toilet facilities, are accessible to wheelchair users. Owing to the listed status of the building, the upstairs gallery is unavailable to anyone experiencing difficulties using the stairs, but all upstairs exhibits are also presented downstairs in alternative formats.

All sound equipment is fitted with an induction loop facility. There is also an induction loop in the Reception area.

Our visitors from overseas

The audiovisual soundtrack and the interpretative panels are available in six European languages, - English, Gaelic, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

Museum Shop

Our small shop offers a variety of items particularly relevant to our area and the Museum’s themes. There are several cafés and restaurants within a short distance of the Museum.

Toilets

The Museum has a toilet with wheelchair access and disabled facilities.
