Gale Warning Launch

Gale Warning Launch

On the evening of the 20th May 2010 Gale Warning was 'launched' (like all good things it's worth doing more than once!) with a talk by Nick Clooney, the Met Office's 'man in Achiltibuie'. Almost 70 people piled into the muserum to hear him give an expose of weather and what it is to be a "Met Office Man in the North West. Those there enjoyed an evening of good talk and many of the contributors to the 'movie of the exhibition' either as experts or as crew were on hand to add to the occasion.

Ullapool Museum and Visitor Centre

Opening hours: Easter to end October

10am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday. Closed on Sundays

Winter opening by arrangement

Welcome to Ullapool Museum & Visitor Centre.  Housed within a restored Thomas Telford Parliamentary Church, originally built in 1829, the Museum tells the story of  Lochbroom - the land and its  people, through a blend of traditional and multimedia displays.

Our acclaimed audiovisual presentation tells the story of the people who have made this challenging environment their home, from the first settlers after the Ice Age to the present day. The commentary is available in six European languages, as are the permanent displays.
